Week Two Round Up - IT FITS!

My journey from Flab to Fab this week has been a like a roller coaster ride, many ups and downs. The ride this week was well worth it and glad that I at least tried it rather than just walked away, because it really is fun. I also feel really good about the outcome so far!

What really made this week was putting on two shirts that I have not been able to wear because of my inflated mid section. Well let me tell you...I tried both of them and they both FIT! Yes...IT FITS and it's not tight and my belly is not all bulging out of it and stuff! WHAT AN INCREDIBLE FEELING THAT IS! It makes all the sacrifices that I am doing for my own health really worth it, though yesterdays' all yogurt day, quite sucked.

I am totally ending week two on a high. Even though I did not lose as much as I did in week one, I am really proud at myself for sticking to the plan. I even went out with friends this weekend and really watched what I ate - though I have to confess I had a drink, but sweated it out dancing. I went to dim sum and to a fancy schmancy restaurant and only ordered what was on the chemical diet plan. Thank goodness it was seafood and green salad day!

WHAT HAS CHANGED
What I have noticed that has changed about my eating habits is that I am more conscious about my food choices. I find myself reading the backs of labels at the grocery store, really contemplating what will satisfy my taste, and making the healthiest choices for me. For example, at Cafe Luck the other night I could have ordered the Madagascar Prawns in Spicy Garlic Butter, because it sounded great, but I chose the regular prawns off the raw bar and partnered it with a Bibb lettuce and fine herb salad. This meal totally satisfied my appetite...and I still got my prawns.

I attribute this new outlook to food as a way to make sure my investment is doing well. I could have cheated anytime during this journey and made an excuse for it but that would not be fair to me or to people who is showing their support. So, maybe, the calamari in basil sauce was not the best choice for me to make at dim sum - though I did have Chinese broccoli without the oyster sauce, but I did consciously make an effort to choose what I thought would be the best meal for me in that situation.  Truthfully, journaling and talking about my journey out of FLABulocity is really helping me to make better choices for my body and to come to terms that my relationship, with food, can be moderated.

I've stuck to my plan and have really made the right choices for me on this journey. I am halfway through this first part of my journey. While some people think it's totally extreme what I am doing, I say it's discipline for me and it's really helping me make peace with my past food addictions. Maybe addiction is too strong of a word...how about food over indulgence. At any rate I feel wonderful and putting on clothes that I could not wear before...is an awesome feeling!
